Teeth need to be treated from an early age so that children do not experience growth and development dental problems while also maintaining the normal state of teeth. Fluids taken babies and toddlers is likely to trigger tooth decay.

The biggest cause of tooth decay of children under five is the habit of drinking milk or sweet liquids in a bottle at bedtime. This is because milk generally contains sugar, and sugar stuck overnight will cause tooth loss.

"Drinking milk is good, but should not be taken at night before bed. Puddle of milk in the mouth can damage the teeth on the front or also called baby bottle syndrome," said Bahar drg Armasastra from the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Indonesia on the sidelines Toothbrush campaign initiated Morning and Evening Pepsodent in Jakarta.

For the habit of drinking milk does not bring problems to your child's teeth, Arma doctor recommend that parents get children to clean their teeth after drinking milk at night.

"It could start with a simple, ie, rinsing with water after drinking milk," he said.

With increasing age, children can begin to be taught to brush their teeth at night.

Dental care of children also apply to infants who have not experienced the growth of milk teeth. "Clean the child's gums with gauze soaked in water so that no residual milk settles," he advised.

Since children aged one year or start eating solid foods, parents need to pay attention to the child's balanced diet. Giving milk to be continued because it contains many nutrients essential for growth.
